I still can't figure out why beer drinking isn't a televised sporting event on Spike TV yet. Seriously, who wouldn't watch the tricycle race from "Revenge of the Nerds" as a competitive event? Would pounding a beer after every lap be any worse than Kobayashi inhaling 53.75 hot dogs in 12 minutes? Just think of the gambling implications.
Anyway, in the "So-NOW-You-Tell-Me" Department, scientists have figured out a formula for "beer goggles". Lighting, distance, smokiness, and most importantly, the quantity of alcohol consumed, are all factored into the equation.
"For example, someone with normal vision, who has consumed five pints of beer and views a person 1.5 metres away in a fairly smoky and poorly lit room, will score 55, which means they would suffer from a moderate beer goggle effect."
Good luck trying to run these calculations in your head after your 5th shot of jager.
